Is the supposed scandal that Michelle referred to someone as "whitey?" Give me a break! Words like "whitey," "cracker," and "redneck" don't have nearly the negative connotation that the n-word does. To me, when a white person uses the n-word, there is always an undertone of implied violence. As a white person, I can think of situations where a black person could theaten me, but I'm not aware of any words that by themselves have that effect. You can call me "whitey" all you want and I'll just laugh it off.
So if there is such a video, let's air it and all laugh together at it.
My only thought is, how little knowledge of Black people do you have to have in order to imagine a Black person saying "whitey" in the new millennium? Is his sole frame of reference reruns of the Jeffersons?
So the hidden message is.... that Rick Astley is going to perform at the inaugural ball? That can't be right. I need political code lessons.
