I don't really understand the Genesis Device reference nor do I understand why it would make Obama's mom Carol Marcus; Spock was regenerated on the Genesis Planet, not David. And isn't mentioning the Genesis Device a slightly roundabout way to suggest that Obama is a clone? Sounds to me as if the author tossed in the reference simply to earn nerd points. Mission accomplished.
