Is really bringing it. Smacking around Pat Buchanan. Not that I like any of this. You know me. Serious, Very Serious, blogger. No way I'd be stuck on MSNBC. Did I mention I was Serious?
UPDATE: More Seriousness--Did Chris Matthews just bust on Kieth Olberman on air? Or did I catch that wrong. This was just as Olberman was pulling in Steny Hoyer. Comments (15)Comments on this entry have been closed. |

The Beautiful Struggle: A Father, Two Sons, and an Unlikely Road to Manhood
Its hard to watch MSNBC when Buchanan, he is all bluster and bad political strategy. I'll even dismiss his call for blacks to show some gratitude, but he offers up commentary thats rooted in just platitudes
MCAIN IS A HERO
Rev Wright is evil
OBAMA CAN BE AUTHENTIC
OBAMA's an EGGHEAD
The ol school whites would vote for that
THIS ISN'T ABOUT RACE
so yes, i love that Maddow just hits him with the fact barrage. And he's confused and stumbling.
Old school catholics
sweet jesus i love rachel maddow. these clowns on the right try to mix it up with her and she's just slices through the bullsh!t.
they should pin a medal on the woman---she's a fucking hero.
I'm not a death penalty dood, but watching Maddow rip that fascist futz Buchanan from throat to anus was enjoyable. She didn't bother with his head because it's filled with maggots. Buchanan is one of those guys who deserve the "Oliver Cromwell Special Treatment." In my fertile imagination it goes like this: you hang the dead-ender and thug, then you bury him for a week or so and get a jury together. Then you dig him up and give him a trial, where he is found guilty, and sentenced to be drawn and quartered. The various body parts are placed at strategic and public places so that the message goes out that treasonous, hateful and hate-filled doods won't be tolerated. The first dood who made my list was Robert Strange McNamara, the last two are Cheney and Rumsfeld.
This is no game, as some of the laughing hyenas on TeeVee think it is. It's life and death.

Tell us how you really feel Marc!
I saw Matthews bust on Olbermann too - Chris seems a bit testy tonight, like he's got something on his brain. He yelled at his producer who was hitting the wrap it up box on him too.
c. matthews is definitely on some shit tonight...check this out:

well played, sir.
he sonned olbermann lol....
they got a weird chemistry tonight...
Dude Chris just lost it on Keith there for a second. That was dope!
Matthews appears to be offended that no-one (including Olbermann....especially Olbermann) wants to talk about his fantastical scenarios for 2012. Imagine that! Matthews must be a pain in the ass in fantasy football leagues. It's like he's trying to draft Tim Tebow in an NFL pool.
No way, no how, no McCain! Best line of the night!

Come on, T. You're almost making me want to watch MSNBC. But as you said, where am I going to watch speeches like Schweitzer's? I'll stick with C-SPAN for the rest of the convention. Maybe I'll turn to Rachel and Keith for the GOP.
Of course Chris busted Olbermann. Didn't you notice during the primaries how much he loathes the guy and resents being on air with him? Now he's able to deal with it verbally. During the primaries he had to contort his face not to roll his eyes; he never said anything, the resentment was all in the body language. \
And Maddow's very good with Buchanan. She knows he's a joke as a pundit and has no qualms showing it on air, although they seem a little chummier than they did a few weeks ago. When MSNBC finally boots Buchanan, it'll be when Maddow's star (and clout) rises. As I have no doubt it will very quickly do in the next few months. She's gonna be a gold mine for that station: as liberal and as smart and as egotistical as Olbermann, but less bloviating and narcissitic.
I'm not sure if I watched the same Maddow/Buchanan clip...but if it's the one where they're talking about whether Hillary will really go all in for Obama, then I actually have to agree with Buchanan on this one. I thought everything he said was true, Maddow stood up for HRC in a very politically correct way, but at the end of the day, it was about saving face rather than the truth.
Buchanan said that HRC would say all the right things and that she would move a lot of women to Obama's side, but that if she really wanted Obama to win, she would gut McCain in her speech, and Buchanan was predicting she wouldn't. Usually I think the guy's a nutjob, but this time, I was nodding my head to everything he was saying.
Weirdest moment for me so far was watching Matthews tear up after Teddy finished up. "We've watched a Kennedy grow old."
I missed most of last night with a wedding anniversary, I'll try to be better tonight.
