Rove is a sleazebag. And, the thing is, he and others of his ilk will seriously stare people in the face and imply that Palin's public office experience is more substantial than that of Obama's.

That's what scares me about efforts to rollback affirmative action. If we can't even agree that someone like Obama is more qualified than Palin for virtually any job outside of sportscasting or beauty paegant coach, then I'm wondering how some people think a black guy is more qualified than any white person, ever, in any field.

I want to puke typing this, but... in all fairness to Karl Rove, I think he was right in what he said in that clip.

Now that McCain has picked Palin, Rove should be asked to explain what exactly the difference is between what he thought Obama might do and what McCain actually did. That's where his propaganda will be portrayed as insight. See: Urbaniak's comment above this one.

Tim Kaine had a undistinguished career including his 3 years as governor of Virginia?

Jeez, Turd Blossom, what had your buddy Bush done before you got him installed as POTUS? Executed more inmates than any other governor? Made his state the most polluted in the nation? Ran a couple of companies into the ground until his daddy's buddies bailed him out?

Why should anyone care what Karl Rove thinks?

Thanks for the clip, Urbaniak. Classic. Rove disses Kaine for having been Mayor of Richmond, then rattles off a half dozen relatively unknown but supposedly larger cities. Then in the follow-up, he claims that Wasilla is the second largest city in Alaska.

For the record, based on the 2000 Census, Richmond, with a population of 197,790, is the 93rd largest city in America, not, as Rove claimed, the 105th. Although that makes Richmond smaller than Aurora (60th) or Mesa (42nd), contrary to Rove, it is in fact larger than Chula Vista (119th), North Las Vegas (103rd) and Henderson (115th) and nearly twice as large as Gilbert (203rd).

The second largest city in Alaska is not in the top 600. Neither is Wasilla the second largest city in Alaska. That would be Juneau. Wasilla is in fact the 13th largest city in Alaska, with a 2000 population of 5,469.

So well more than half of the "facts" cited by Rove are in actuality easily disproven lies. He lies freely because the people and the press permit him to.

But somehow, being mayor of a town of 5,469 souls counts as better experience than being the mayor of a city of 197,790. I wonder how Rove sleeps at night.
