You don't get much realer than Barack Obama, it's true. I hear he bleeds courvoisier. He chews spent slugs like bubblegum. He can roll a blunt with his toes.Kids today still roll blunts?

I'm not very interested in Limbaugh being Limbaugh when he calls Obama a "Chicago thug." Still Adam Serwer's retort made me laugh:

The Beautiful Struggle: A Father, Two Sons, and an Unlikely Road to Manhood
You kidding?? There isn't a kid in the suburbs under 22 that doesn't exclusively smoke blunts.
Still? Blunts are probably bigger now than ever before. At least according to my informal research at Rock the Bells this summer.
Yeah, Coates... it's the best way to smoke, not that I do. Ahem.
Hell, with the way the economy is tanking we'll all be reduced to burning the wood in our pipes for resin. Who can afford to fill an entire blunt nowadays?
I mean, if I were to use illegal substances. Which would be illegal. So, of course, no one here does that.
(cough cough)
Blunts never go away.
I know this isn't the proper forum, but i think that if you have very good bud, a blunt is not the way to go. If you really want to enjoy the taste and have an unadulterated experience, go with a bowl or a nice j.
I totally understand if this is deleted by the host.
And to be clear, I haven't touched the stuff in years.
Anything other than a vaporizer is wasteful and unhealthy.
Get out of the dark ages and VAPORIZE today!
Philly's, blunts, and spliffs are all the same. Yes the “kids” are still doing it. Hey we are about the same age. We are not old..
I never smoked marijuana, hemp, reefer, ghanja (Rasta Brothers), weed, trees, hydro, chronic(West Coast), cannibus, buddha, herb, hash or lettuce. I had too many drug addicts in my family. I think drug addiction and screwing up your life is hereditary or a rite of passage for members of my family. Growing up in the South Bronx everybody was getting high on something. So I saw no point in doing it.
Btw, Obama is doing the right thing by ignoring this crap (AP poll, Uppity, Fannie and Freddie phony ties). The R's are trying to distract him from the economy.. The economy is Obama's winning issue.
That's an ELITE Chicago thug, mind you.
NB: it is one of the problems with the elite meme -- no matter how much the smart Republicans may want to push it, they still struggle with the bigots who can't manage to stay on message.
yes, kids today still roll blunts.
did you think marijuana somehow went extinct?
as long as there's pot, they'll be blunts.

Right because there's only one way to smoke pot. And people have always smoked it in that one way.
Blunt Wraps are V. popular at university, before some sort of event, like a football game, or for a social gathering, usually a party. They still do have a novelty aspect to them. Speaking of drug use in general for Obama, I feel that Limbaugh's and the right's anger towards Obamas former drug use was that he used drugs casually, and never declared any addiction or long-term harmful effects. Bush had had an alcohol problem, which ended when he found Christ. This is more acceptable to many than casual high school drug experimentation. Especially Obama's comment that conflicted with Bill's "I never inhaled", which was "I inhaled, that was the point." Just musing
blunts are to joints as bongs are to pipes
In the end, I think Ann is correct. Sen. Obama will win if he can win the economy issue.
Everything else is a big distraction which can only water down the decision to be made. The recent outing of McCain's staff member is just another bump in the road. They'll probably be more distractions in the next few days leading up to debate ust to muddy the waters. It'll be interesting to see what percentage of time (in the debate) is actually given to the economy, wars in Iraq & Afghanistan, and culture war issues.
you elitists with your harvard educated bongs and arugula flavored rolling papers need to stop lookin down on us honest, red blooded, true american patriot blunt smokers in the south and the heartland
Chicago Thug?
BWA HA HA HA HA
This is freaking hilarious.
I guess the racist dopehead got the GOP Memo for the day.
Obama's a 'Chicago Thug'.
G-T-F-O-H
This is where you cue the Iraqi refugee family to say, a la Muhammed Ali:
Ain't no Chicago thug ever invaded my country and pounded it into s***.
Rush Limbaugh wouldn't last five minutes on the South Side of Chicago.
What else would they roll?
Well, not indulging myself, but loving Cypress Hill, and having occasion to go to their concerts, where when the first "yo yo yo" goes up from BReal, and half the crowd light's up, let's just say, that yes, lots of people roll their own.
yes kids role blunts.....I am from the south and thats all they do
How else would kids today read a T. Coates blog or browse the HuffPost if not with a fat cheap cigar filled with bud. I mean, ALL the coolest bloggers are doin' it. As for the blunt question and how it relates to class accusations, could this be a whole new thread on elitist rolling habits? My .02.
