I have that season on DVD, and I've seen that skit quite a few times. But this is the first time I realized that Dave's Puffy and Rick James are so similar -- stars who are so infatuated by their own fame that they're totally ungrounded by society. Puffy rides his posse like horses; Rick James cold-cocks Charlie Murphy as a joke.

Another way to put it is that Dave's Rick James - coke + quaaludes = Dave's Puffy.

The Dylan reaction shots are priceless. I never really watched that MTV show but that bizarre quick cut editing style they use where the reaction shots clearly do not match the action is instantly recognizable. Funny.

Dang I miss Dave...but the episode of Inside the Actors Studio with him explaining himself made it pretty clear to me (at least) that he did the right thing when he walked away from the show (Dolla: you should check it out if you haven't seen it - he explains how he ended up in South Africa).

Love the clip, but now I'm gonna have "Warriors...come out to plaaaaaaaaaaay!" in my head all day!

"Warriors...Come out and plaaaaaay!" is also a correct point of reference, however, I think in this particular skit dave was making reference to that Craig Mack song-Flava in ya ear.

It starts off with "Baaad Booyy...Come out and plaaay"
