Trying not to get carried away here

But Nate has good news:

For John McCain to get back into this race, he is going to need some dramatic events to occur, and we don't know in which types of states such events might have a differential impact; something like an outbreak of hostilities in the Middle East could make a very different electoral footprint than new revelations about Barack Obama and William Ayers.
Check out the polling. I think it holds so much more weight then the pre-convention, pre-debate stuff. What we are seeing, as far as I am concerned, is the vindication of strategy, optimism and coolness. Much like in the primary Obama is sticking to his game-plan, not worrying about being baited into a contest of anger, but slowly choking the life out of his opponent. McCain is in the sleeper hold. The ref is now raising his hand for the second time...

Where did all the people who were saying Obama was doomed if he didn't get angry? Or that Virginia and North Carolina and Ohio were impossible for him now?

But wait!! McCain is able to slide his way over to the ropes! He slaps his tag-team partner-The Sarahcuda!!! She enters the ring, and proceeds to call Obama a terrorist while winking at her adoring fans!! They love it!

Obama proceeds to do his best Chris Benoit impression, and instantly puts her in the Crippler Cross Face.

The Match is over!!

FREE BENOIT!!!

I'm trying to keep my excitement down too, but it's even harder if you ignore the national polls and look at the state polling and the electoral math. McCain already needed a FL, VA, OH trifecta to have any chance of winning and he's now losing, badly, in all three states even in GOP-leaning polls like Rasmussen. It's starting to look like he's going to need a small miracle just to prevent a total blowout.

You're probably right. McCain is done. Let's just hope Obama doesn't accomplish anything in the next 4-8 years as far as spending is concerned...

Thankfully, McCain is no Hulk Hogan. Repeated blows to his head will NOT make him stronger.

Obama as Verne Gagne?

Watch out for that Bill Ayers McCain has hidden in his trunks!

Thankfully, Obama takes his daily glass of Dyna-Power, so he'll be able to keep that hold. Tastes great too!
