Someone wrote me suggesting I cop it. Seems decent, so far. Good to hear him back.

The Beautiful Struggle: A Father, Two Sons, and an Unlikely Road to Manhood
Seems decent, so far. Good to hear him back....
Yeah, that's about what I'd say, so far. Never know when it'll kick in and really hit ya though.
I just bought it a few days ago. It's pretty solid, and a couple songs really snuck up on me (the one that sounds like a Dilla song with the chopped up soul vocal is my favorite).
My crew is currently touting 88 Keys "Death of Adam" as superior to the Q-Tip jawn. i disagree, but you should check it out and let us know what you think.
I'm definitely enjoying it. Via his MySpace, you can listen to the whole album on imeem:

Haven't heard the album (thanks for the tip VW), but I'm lovin the single. sweet hook.
"and at the end... it's you. at the end of it all, it's you."
although I'm liking the whole album, i have been on "you" (track #5) since I got it!
Seriously, nine years? That is entirely too long w/o a Q-Tip/Tribe album.
I especially like the track w/ Amanda Diva. I know it's just the hook but she sounds real good.
Apparently "Shaka" originally opened with a lengthy excerpt from a speech Obama gave on the campaign trail, but Tip couldn't secure the copyright in time (who do you even contact for something like that?). It's a shame too, since this album has that uplifting Native Tongues cool-positivity-vibe emblematic of Obama's core message.
I'm digging on the track 'Official.' Very chill.
Worth buying two. Life is Better with Norah Jones and We Fight We Love are hot.
Yeah, it seems like a growing album. I with the D'angelo track, I wish it was longer. Love the MPC shot on the cover.
