Lindsay Graham sent out 2 robocalls in SC that must have been targeted at black Democratic primary voters asking for their vote and urging them NOT to vote a straight Democratic ticket. Ironically I was going to vote for him anyway because the "Democrat" running against him is a real nut job. Graham can actually be fairly middle of the road on some of the issues (torture, immigration) that I care about.

Hate to break it to you but this tactic is an old as political parties. In 2004, there were John Kerry/Arlen Spector signs in Pennsylvania.

Democrats in conservative areas of the South often campaign with similar tactics.

Just saying. This is so common, it's not even right to call it a dirty trick. Sorry.

Look up Donald Henry Segretti or Roger Stone (in Wikipedia) if you want to understand real "dirty" campaigning.

I'll second Henry's comment. That's SOP for southern Republicans running in areas with large African American populations. The Maryland GOP did the same thing during the 2006 Cardin vs. Steele Senate race.
