Miller's comment was stupid, of course. But do people really equate having many children with having a great sex life? I would have equate it more with religious belief (e.g. Catholic church stance towards birth control) or the fact that some people just like having a large family. Nothing wrong with that; I just don't think having many kids can be correlated with having a great sex life. Theoretically, five kids could mean, well, only having sex five times.
Or I guess Miller was referring to the fact that Sarah Palin and her husband are good-looking. Heh, maybe that's Miller's worst offense - implying only hot people can have a good sex life.
See, that's the thing... I'm all up for political humor which I disagree with, as long as it's actually funny. That clip was just stupid.

From Rich Lowry (sparkles!) to Bill Kristol (my hearththrob!) to Republicans with signs (coldest state, hottest governor) casting Palin as the star of every sexy librarian fantasy out there has been a key part of her appeal.
Palin lost a lot of Republican women. Women who respect Snowe and Hutchinson and believe in being taken seriously did not perk up as Palin fumbled to sound as though she had thought about any national issue, ever. She has her fans in the rabid base, but this is not the governor with the Awesome sex life American Republican Women have been waiting for.
Miller is also evidently thinking about Todd's sex life. Much more so, I would wager, than are Republican women. Or any other women.
I see it as part of the age old pissing match that happens on both sides. Liberals say conservatives are uptight because they never get laid and fear sex. Conservatives say feminists need a real man to put it to them to loosen them up.

It's actually sad to see Dennis Miller on TV. He could have gone the route of Bill Maher, independent with sharp elbows, but instead looks like he is trying desperately to get the likes of Bill O'Reilly's approval. He contorts and bitterly laughs at his own comments.
I half expect him to do a VFW hall tour in a year or so and dumbing down his act because the cultural allusions he was so fond of will be lost on the audience. He'll end up like Gov. Palin, seeming nonsensical with occasional rightwing red meat thrown into a sentence to get the audience with him.
It doesn't look like he's having fun as he's diving head first into an near empty pool. Did he have a severe concussion we never heard about? Because he keeps diving as the pool is emptying.

I have always been puzzled by the perception that Miller was once a funny guy and became unfunny after he lost his mind on 9/11. I always found his whole random obscure references schtick to be pretty lame. It always struck me as the faux intellectual pose of a guy who was not really all that bright after all. But if you thought he was funny then, the truth is his act hasn't really changed much. Its still just a lot of poorly constructed ranting about how stupid and petty and venal everybody else is.
What a tedious, irrelevant buffoon.

I think he was just trying to be outrageous. In the same segment he said that he wants Obama to be a great President that he'll be happy to vote for in four years. I know that irritated some of his audience. I gathered from that he might have a kind of "My President, whoever he is, right or wrong" perspective which is kind of weird for a comedian.
