Folks, I present the Obama Hustle. Somehow I don't think we'll be seeing a Sarah Palin Electric Slide. Props to Nat Moore for putting me on...

The Beautiful Struggle: A Father, Two Sons, and an Unlikely Road to Manhood
Tomorrow night, Palin supporters will be doing the Achy Breaky.
The lady's intro was hilarious. But why call it the "hustle"? I know shuffle was already taken, but "hustle"? How about the Obama "Shift" or the Obama "Slide" (I like that one myself). Oh well, golf clap to them for pulling the video together...
Always bet on black!
TNC:
I need to see video of retired Jewish women in Boca doing this dance. I'm going to send the clip to my mom so she can get some classes going at the clubhouse. (Yes, there are many there who would love it!)
Get down Grannies! So cool!
Angelica--here in Detroit, line dances like this are called "hustles." There are a million of 'em! And since I'm not a native, I don't know how they got the name. Just so you know it's not specific to Obama.
I remember at the beginning of Mr C's (The Slide Man!) video from a few years back, he opened with "this time, we're going to get funky".
I wondered "did you not get funky last time?"
I actively looked for previous stuff he had done to see if this time was, in fact, a significant departure from last time.
As it turns out, it wasn't.
I was disappointed.
I'm doing that hustle tomorrow night
Line dancing, it turns out, is one of the bedrock principles of the new politics.
Don't be ridiculous, Ta-Nehisi; Sarah Palin's dance is obviously the Bunny Hop . . .
Thanks Ange!
Although I was born in Detroit, I have not been there in years. It would be interesting to know how the hustle came to be called the "hustle".
LOL. I guess there is no chance we'll get a step in the name of love.
All they do is this?
This is all kinds of awesome. I was dancing in my seat!
I got teary-eyed watching them dance. Why? That is more than a dance to those women. See my take at http://itsbetterleftsaid.blogspot.com/2008/11/think-about-it.html.
