The Beautiful Struggle: A Father, Two Sons, and an Unlikely Road to Manhood
These are good, but nothing beats the Don Cheadle nfl commercials. I loved those commercials and I HATE commercials.
holy crap, i REMEMBER that first one! what year was that from? I didnt even use to watch football back then! My co-worker just mentioned that this is a play on how he talked in "Apocalypse Now". I've only seen it once so i hardly remember, but I did read "Heart of Darkness" a few times and dug it intensely.
GaPeach7: got a link?
Man between this and Speed there was some perfect use of Dennis Hopper in the 90s.
ON the real, Sterling Sharpe is one of the best receivers ever. I always thought he would be the one to challenge Rice for the throne.
The Evil Midnight Bomber What Bombs At Midnight from the late, lamented Tick cartoon always reminded me of this Dennis Hopper character.

He really starts doing his thing at about 11:00.
I love how the Bruce Smith spot opens with Drew Bledsoe getting sacked. Pretty accurate summary of his career.
Wait, wasn't there one with Deion Sanders? I don't remember some of these.
Can't say I remember any of these, and they don't do a whole lot for me now.
Bruce is Up for HoF this year. I loved those Bills teams. Never Got the ring, but every year they would run the AFC. Kelley and Thurman running over the Fish and Pats every year in Decemeber was a guarunteed fun game.
It's very weird to have such an icon of the counterculture worshipping football players.
Just updating to note Smith was elected.
Ta-Nehisi,
You are the man. I've admired your work for a while but this post actually made me comment. THANK YOU for reminding me of these great spots. You are a freight train of thought and, in this instance, fun. Choo-choo. Choo-choo, baby.
