It's the tone that really makes it. The way he tries to give these people some sort of scolding lecture ("Quite honestly, I'm not really happy with any of you guys"). When they laugh, that's the most authentic moment in the clip.

Having literacy tests as a precondition to voting is a bad idea, but I'm starting to think that having them as a precondition to getting a passport might not be so bad. It's going to be tricky enough for the US to rebuild its reputation overseas as it is without people like this pottering around the Middle East.
This guy really is the gift that keeps on giving. I'll never forget the moment when a campaign worker on the McCain bus noted while calling some cable news channel or another that Joe the Plumber had boarded the bus, as though we, the viewing public, were meant to be awed that a celebrity of such stature had deigned to grace them with his presence. I particularly enjoy the point Persia made about his being a chickenhawk lecturing the Israelis about correct wartime behavior. Choice! However, it's totally in keeping with his knuckle-headed pontification about taxes and such during the run-up to the election.
