Via the awesome Dave Weigel, we see the PUMAS are alive and well, and competing for Hillary Clintons seat. Which PUMAs? That one, of course! Rewind, selector...
I think the most egregious part isn't even the "inadequate black male" comment--that's just funny now. The truly fascinating thing is to remember that there were people who actually believed that Obama was going to take Democratic party down the tubes. Christian may be ranting in this video, but she wasn't alone. Remember that cat down South who said he supported Hillary because if Obama was the nominee, every Democrat under him would lose? Wonder where that kid is now... Comments (16)Comments on this entry have been closed. |

The Beautiful Struggle: A Father, Two Sons, and an Unlikely Road to Manhood
I hope she gets the seat, because I sense the makings of a wacky oddball comedy where Christian and Burris are forced to co-author legislation together and eventually fall in love.
Im still looking at her like a fuckin' betamax...really?? they still make u?? She should hook up with joe the plumber...they could have little angry inadequate joe the plumbers
You just gotta love the white folks are second class citizens quote.
Oh yeah, like Gov. Paterson might wake up one say and say "Ya' know, I think I'll appoint a DINO, Party Unity my Ass, Democrat for McCain to Hillary's old seat. That's the ticket!"
Harriet Christian is soooo Joe the Plumber. I predict a memoir coming...
OK, so this woman wants a Senate seat. Sarah Palin seems to have intervened to get her daughter's baby daddy a job he wasn't qualified for, and to delay the arrest of his drug dealing mother. "Joe" the "Plumber" is now going to be a "war correspondent." Which 2008-election-related crazy white person will be next?
Have you guys checked out Wonkette's fight with the PUMAs? It's terrific. Start here and then go here.
Say goodbye to your morning!
I just figured it out... I've heard that voice before:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bQlpDiXPZHQ
I'm confused about their existence also. The election is over, you were completely wrong about everything, you never had and never will have any power. Goodbye forever.
Ben: Wonkette's fight with them really is terrific because they are harnessing readers to vote against PUMA blogs in every category for no other reason than to be contrary. That reminds me that I need to go vote.
I just like to see so many virtual people getting un-virtually pissed off.
I went to the confluence and decided to stop reading when they explained it was impossible to figure out how Obama won his senate seat. No, really.
Given Illinois’ convoluted system regarding Senate terms…
Every Senate district elects its members to serve two four-year terms and one two-year term per decade.
…and Obama’s predilection for reticence, the details regarding his Illinois Senate runs are rather sketchy.
Yeah, it's a pity there's nothing out there, like newspapers or political blogs you could refer to. But Obama's not talking about it! THE WALL OF SILENCE DESCENDS. This isn't even respectable enough to bother calling crazy.
I don't even know what this chick is talking about. She reminds me of those videos shot at Palin rallies.
Blog title: Chris Rock reference...?
As Ben notes, Pumas are suddenly doing battle with Wonkette, too. Were they all in some sort of holiday storage? Shouldn't they be gone now?
(And Joe the Plumber, Middle East correspondent, is one of the wackiest turns the post-election has taken yet. Isn't that a bad job for a single parent?)
The whole thing about Harriett Christian asking to be appointed to the Senate seat is a joke meant to illustrate Caroline Kennedy's lack of qualifications.
Well she is smoother in front of a microphone than Caroline. That isn't to say she was making a good point, or even a sane one.

I wonder if Joan Walsh thinks that Christian is a candidate worth hearing.
@CK
I believe they are what Rachael Maddow calls "post rational".
I hope someone does an interview with crazy drunk lady and ask her if she saw Barck in his swim trunks and if she still thinks he's an "inadequate black male".
