Second, it is about f-ing time the cops in western Michigan got the spotlight shown on their crazy asses. This isn't the first guy they've shot over absolutely nothing so it's about time somebody noticed.
It is totally irresponsible to put, as fact, that he was simply shot "over a dime bag," when no on here has any clue as to what happened. He could be a huge drug dealer that just happened to not have anything at the time, reached for a weapon or acted as if he was...

Yes, it is totally irresponsible to speculate as to what happened to force this innocent peace officer to shoot the obviously-guilty-of-some-horrendous-crime aggressor pot-head and possible "HUGE DRUG DEALER!!!" He could have been reaching to karate death-chop the officer in the chest in order to remove his heart and show it to him as it was still beating before the officer died. He could have been the right-hand man of Osama bin Laden, reaching for the phone to call in a terrorist strike on New Holland, Mich. The "HUGE DRUG DEALER" label could have just been a cover for his true motive: To keep hidden the WMD secretly shipped from Iraq in 2003 and kept in his off-campus apartment all this time.
But, far be it from me to speculate. THAT would be "totally irresponsible."
Uh, I used those facts to highklight the fact that neither one of us has any real clue as to what happened. It may very well have been an aoutrageous, totally unpropvoked act of violence by a deranged police officer. Or not. To conclude, at this point, that it was only about "two tablesopoons" of pot is irresponsible.

Um, those aren't facts. Those are speculations, and are precisely what you were arguing we shouldn't do.
Christ--it's called a h-y-p-o-t-h-e-t-i-c-a-l. I presented *hypothetical* facts. None of us know what happened and that is my point. There is any number of scenarios that could have transpired. A hypothetical scenario that this guy may not have been so innocent is, at this point, as valid as assuming this cop just kicked this guy's door down and shot him for taking a bong hit.

I wanted to offer a counter to the dumb, conventional wisdom that if you paint your police force black, you could eradicate police brutality. In fact, Prince George's--one of the richest, blackest counties in the country--also had one of the most brutal police force's in the country.
