Why for Hillary - I am often confused by Coates post - can someone explain this post
Its one of those internet tradition sort of jokes. Back during the Democratic primaries, it was common for pundits who had a vested interest in prolonging the race to interpret all sorts of relatively meaningless data as good news for hillary. They often did the same for Guiliani.
This went well past the point of absurdity and there was a blog commenter, named idiotic I believe, who posted at TPM a lot who would ridicule this media tendency by pointing out, even at times when the news was unambiguously in Obama's favor that it was excellent news for Hillary.
People started to pick this up and made an internet tradition out of it in various ways.
I don't read TPM often, so I missed the joke to some extent. Err rather, I thought the joke was about Hillary running for that Senate seat as the "little girl from Scranton"
My speculation, though I am as in the dark about this as burnstony, is that this sounds to me, mmmn, smells like EXCELLENT NEWS!!!! FROM RUSH LIMBAUGH!!!!!--cigar smoke and mirrors with half a brain tied behind his back--the inCONTINent oxy-moron nation.

The Eagles got their good news last Saturday when they drafter Shady McCoy. Of course, I'm a Pitt alum, so I may be biased. Still, it was a good pickup for them and thus excellent news.
