Nevertheless they could not understand
That I'm a black man, and I could never be a veteran...

Heh, dig EPMD, Stet and Eric B.

word to the mutha

apropos the rebel spirit, a good article here in the Atlantic on another side to the bloody consequences of american foreign policy meddling that doesn't get it's due in the collective american consciousness

The War Is Bitter and Nasty

One of the finest uses of an Isaac Hayes sample ever, which is saying a lot.

microtherion

I'm kind of partial to the Tricky version: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z68rDTZT6ME

When Chuck says:

"I caught a C.O. falling asleep on death row
I grabbed his gun and he did what I said so"

...it's one of my favorite moments in hip hop. It ain't nothing too crazy, just the way instead of simply saying "he did what I told him to" Chuck says "he did what I said so"...

Just one of those little things great hip hop does with language, reinventing the way language is used, just some ill rhymes, it always gets me jazzed...

Classic track, as great as any of the great P.E. tracks and there's a lot...
