Call me a homer, but I think I like Anthony Weiner. Makes me feel good to be a pinko, commie bastage.

The Beautiful Struggle: A Father, Two Sons, and an Unlikely Road to Manhood
Whats a homer?
This is the way Democrats should talk about health care reform.
Granted, they won't get any bribes this way
Another crush! That guy actually knows what he is talking about.
Here's an even better video of Weiner on Matthews' show: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZsQ3t5Gn2OA It's simply fantastic.
I never cared much about my congressman before but Weiner's straightforward take on health care has actually made me quite content about being represented by the dude.
he's been a hero in this healthcare debate.
He was nice enough to not say that the reason Joe Lieberman says he's going to vote against the bill is because he's a "fucking asshole."
I'd have voted for him for Mayor if he'd stayed on the ballot long enough; now I'm thinking that he, not Spitzer (or,god forbid, Bloomberg) could be the first Jewish President. He'd have to learn to slow down his speech, though; he talks almost as fast as I do.
I realize Weiner didn't wanna get bogged down in parliamentary procedure during this interview (repelling as he was Matthews' best efforts to drag him there), but am I reading between his lines right - does he think the Senate is willing to dare Lieberman et al to stand up and let themselves be counted among a putative filibuster? (They're all putative in this era, aren't they?) Filibustering your own party basically doesn't happen, right?
That is one seriously competent individual. Staggering. It is inspiring to see a man so knowledgable that he is totally comfortable with such a rapid exchange and covering such important topics without missing a bet. he makes me glad I am a democrat.
Weiner is a great spokesman and as a progressive I'm happy to have him on our side... but what's with Matthews. Maybe I'm ignorant of how he operates because I never watch his show but first it seems like he can't tell the difference between the people of a state and their senators. Just because Blanche Lincoln and Ben Nelson have been bought by the insurance companies doesn't mean their constituents are against a public option. Does Chris Matthews not understand this or is he just being adversarial for the sake of dramatic tv.
Second, Medicare is free? No sir, it is not free. It's cheaper than private insurance but people who have Medicare have to pay monthly premiums and co-pays just like everyone else (not to mention taxes). Weiner corrected him but seriously, dude needs to educate himself.
Yep - he is definitely one of the gems uncovered by the sausage-making process.
I hope doesn't have any affairs, or anything like that.
